atzcalli.

Headword:
atzcalli.
Principal English Translation:

a seashell, a shellfish (see Molina); a freshwater clam (Florentine Codex, Book 11, f. 64v)

IPAspelling:
ɑtskɑlli
Alonso de Molina:

atzcalli. ostia dela mar.
Alonso de Molina, Vocabulario en lengua castellana y mexicana y mexicana y castellana, 1571, part 2, Nahuatl to Spanish, f. 9r. col. 1. Thanks to Joe Campbell for providing the transcription.

Attestations from sources in English:

The atzcalli is supposedly like the tapachtli, and said to be a synonym, but the Florentine Codex has been interpreted to show the tapachtli as a Vogde's scallop and the atzcalli as a freshwater clam. On folio 212 recto, one will see variations on the clam (quetzalatzcalli, chalchiuhatzcalli, and huitzitzilatzcalli).
