no:cheztli: los vocabularios del siglo XVI del mixteco de Tamazulapan y del zapoteco de Tlacochahuaya registran, respectivamente, [n]duq[u] y pea como 'grana.' Amos son términos específicos para la cochinilla que no se derivan de otras raíces. El nombre náhuatl de la grana, no:cheztli, también es un denominación particular, pero en este caso se trata de un compuesto de los vocablos no:chtli ('tuna') y eztli ('sangre'), una hermosa combinación.
