PIHPĪ vt to pluck, gather something in quantity / coger muchas y varias (C) This reduplicated form is the distributive of PĪ 'to pluck, gather something' In T it is attested with incorporated objects referring to hair and beard, hence 'to cut one's hair' and 'to shave.' Although there is some evidence that PĪ has a long stem vowel, the attested applicative form in T has a short vowel before –LIĀ and -TZĪNOĀ. redup. PĪ.
