tribute land, work land
Tequitcatlalli, an older term rare in the corpus [of testaments from the Toluca valley], meaning land that was subject to tribute, often in effect land which had not been in the hands of an owner or a family for long. (Santa María de la Asunción, Toluca Valley, 1760)
camo tequitcatlalli = it is not tequitcatlalli (it is not tribute land or land on which tribute was paid)
Tequitlalli derives from the noun tequitl (tribute, labor, duty) and tequitcatlalli derives from the verb tequiti (to work or to pay tribute).
Similar to tequitcamilli, tequimilli, and tequitlalli.
tequitcatlalli = tierra de tributo
Este termino aparece también en el manuscrito Techialoyan de San Martín Ocoyacac, que hoy se encuentra en la biblioteca Staatsbibliothek Preussischer Kulturbesitz, con el títulos Ms. América No. 7.
