tlahuilicotl.

Headword:
tlahuilicotl.
Principal English Translation:

pine torch (see Karttunen)

Orthographic Variants:
tlāhuilicōtl
IPAspelling:
tɬɑːwilikoːtɬ
Frances Karttunen:

TLĀHUILICŌ-TL pine torch / antorcha, ocote (T) [(3)Tp.239]. The vowel of the second syllable is consistently attested short, although elsewhere in T it is attested long in TLĀHUĪL-LI ‘torchlight.’ The gloss implies OCO-TL ‘ocote, torch pine’ for the second element, but there is I for O in one syllable and the reflex of Ō for O in the other.
