Frances Karttunen:

TOTOPOTZ(A) vt to make something crunchy by toasting it or chewing it loudly / roer o tostar algo (M), lo mastica (haciendo ruido) (T) [(3)Tp.213]. The sense of making or noisily eating crunchy food is at some remove from TOPŌN(I) ‘to make an explosive noise, to thunder, to discharge a firearm’, but this is clearly derivationally related to TOPŌN(I) and TOTOPOCA in morphologically unexceptional way.

TOTOPOCHILIĀ applic. TOTOPOTZ(A).

TOTOPOTZALŌ nonact. TOTOPOTZ(A).
