Fray Alonso Urbano (c. 1522–1608; arrived in New Spain ca. 1557) published a trilingual vocabulary of Otomi. In some sources he is described as an Augustinian friar, but others say he was a Franciscan. He was known to preach both in Otomi and in Nahuatl. His Arte may have been composed prior to 1571 (pre-dating Molina).
