chochoc.

Headword:
chochoc.
Principal English Translation:

a type of bird (see Karttunen)

Orthographic Variants:
chohchoc
IPAspelling:
tʃohtʃok
Frances Karttunen:

CHOHCHOC a type of bird / pájaro arriero (Z) [(2)Zp.93,152]. The literal sense of the Spanish gloss is ‘muleteer bird.’ Since neither attestation marks the vowel of the second syllable long, there does not seem to be a connection with CHŌCA ‘to cry.’
Frances Karttunen, An Analytical Dictionary of Nahuatl (Norman: University of Oklahoma Press, 1992), 54.
