PAHPĀL-LI something black, dark / negro, oscuro (K) [(3)Tp.136]. This is only attested in compounds with ĪX-TLI 'eye,' the construction having the sense 'blind.' Although TLAPAL-LI 'dye' has a short vowel in the second syllable, this item and the verb from which they are both derived have the corresponding vowel long. See PĀ, TLAPAL-LI.
