Frances Karttunen:

POCHĪNALTIĀ vt to make something white / lo blanquea (Z) [(2)Zp.20,193]. In both attestations the vowel of the first syllable is marked long, and this seems to contain the element PŌCH 'smoke,’ but Z also has POCHICTIC 'something pale in color, blonde' in which the vowel is not marked long in eight of nine attestations. This also appears to be the causative form of the verb POCHĪN(A) 'to unravel something, to card fiber.' See POCHICTIC, POCHĪN(A).
