an intensifier (very, really); alternately, an expression such as "Hello!"; and, finally, a verbal conjuring or perhaps a person who is a conjurer (see attestations)
Tlahuel is a personal name that is attested in the Matrícula de Huexotzinco and the Codex of Santa María de la Asunción, perhaps among other manuscripts. In the Gran Diccionario Náhuatl, Tlahuel has been translated as "Hola!" in one source and a conjuring expression in another.
In the Visual Lexicon of Aztec Hieroglyphs, the personal name Tlahuel seems to refer to one who greets others or who conjures, given the speech scrolls that emerge from their mouths in at least three examples. (SW)
