mahuizzohua.

Headword:
mahuizzohua.
Principal English Translation:

to become renowned, to receive honor (see Karttunen)

IPAspelling:
mɑwissowɑ
Frances Karttunen:

MAHUIZZOHUA to become renowned, to receive honor / afamarse o recibir honra (M), recibo honra y dignidad (C) [(1)Bf.2r, (3)Cf. 31V, 54V]. The preterit of this intransitive verb is MAHUIZZOHUAC, which contrasts with preterit MAHUIZOH from transitive MAHUIZOĀ. Neither attestations of MAHUIZZOHUA marks the vowel before -HUA long, although by derivation from MAHUIZZŌ-TL it should be. Cf. 31V has this as a stem and in its preterit form, both spelled with a single rather than a geminate consonant, although on Cf. 54V it has two consonants. See MAHUIZZŌ-TL.
