TLAPAL-HUĪTZIL-IN, literally, “dyed red hummingbird,” Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) [FC: 24 Tlapalhujtzili]: “… it is red and black.” Martin del Campo identified this bird as the Rufous Hummingbird, which is a reasonable possibility. See also HUĪTZIL-IN “hummingbird.”
