Headword:
tecomitl.
Principal English Translation:
a jug
Attestations from sources in English:
The translation of this term, which exists in modern Eastern Huastecan Nahuatl as a reference to a gourd cup, seems to refer in early texts to a ceramic jug. See glyphs for names starting with or containing Tecon in the Matrícula de Huexotzinco, f. 736r. Tecontontli, which is a small jug, would also support tecomitl as a full sized jug, removing the diminutive.
